These terms govern your use of crowid.com and the CrowID service (the "Service"), operated by Autogenous, Inc. ("CrowID", "we", "us"). By using the Service or creating an account you agree to these terms. If you use the Service on behalf of an organisation, you agree on its behalf and confirm you have authority to do so.
1. The Service
The Service includes public domain security scans, accounts with scan history, daily monitoring of domains, alerts, an in-browser secret scanner and an interactive console that demonstrates the CrowID platform with sample data. Features labelled "early access" are offered to organisations separately and may be governed by an additional agreement.
2. Accounts
You must provide accurate information, keep your password confidential and tell us promptly about any unauthorised use. You are responsible for activity under your account. You may delete your account at any time from account settings.
3. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Scan or monitor domains you are not authorised to assess where doing so would breach law or the domain owner's rights. Scans read public information only, but you remain responsible for how you use the results.
- Use the Service to plan or carry out attacks, phishing, fraud or any unlawful activity.
- Attempt to bypass rate limits, probe or disrupt the Service, or access other users' data, except as permitted by our responsible disclosure policy.
- Resell, scrape or automate access to the Service at volume without our written permission.
4. Your content
You keep all rights to information you submit. You grant us the limited permission needed to operate the Service for you, such as storing your scan history and sending alerts. Our handling of personal information is described in the privacy policy.
5. Free service and changes
The free plan is provided at no charge. We may change, suspend or discontinue features, including usage limits, and will give reasonable notice of material changes where we can.
6. Security findings
Scan results describe publicly observable configuration at the time of the scan. They are provided to help you improve your security posture and are not a guarantee that a domain or system is secure, nor a complete assessment.
7. Intellectual property
The Service, including its software, design and content, is owned by CrowID and protected by law. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use it in line with these terms.
8. Disclaimers
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.
9. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, CrowID will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, revenue, data or goodwill. Our total liability for any claim relating to the free Service is limited to one hundred US dollars (US$100).
10. Termination
You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these terms or if needed to protect the Service or others. Sections that by their nature should survive termination will survive.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules, except where the law of your place of residence requires otherwise.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We will change the effective date above and, for material changes, notify account holders. Continued use after changes take effect means you accept them.
13. Contact
Questions about these terms can be sent through our contact form.
